Cruising On Dry Land

Skaneateles, New York

Restaurant tycoon, Phil Romano, wanted a yacht on dry land. The home, christined with lily pads in honor of his wife, Lillie Romano, became a fantasy of touring the high seas. They liked the look and feel of a yacht, but not a boat itself. The exterior was designed to be a cross between a lighthouse and a boat with sweeping aft decks of a luxury cruise liner and a round kitchen window as a porthole.
